Stock Car Association (BriSCA F1) PETER FALDINGS TESTIMONIAL MEETING On Sunday 8th June, the Peter Falding testimonial meeting will take place at Coventry Stadium. The meeting will roar into action at noon with the staging of the Champion of Champions race which is open to drivers who have won the World and Long track World Championship. The prestigious race will field approx 20 drivers which will include World Champions from the past like Andy Stott, Dave Mellor, Stuart Smith, Bert Finnikin, Keith Chambers, Rob Speak, and Len Wolfenden. Also in attendance but not racing will be Jim Esau, George Ansell and Willie Harrison. The meeting will then be similar to the British Championship format with 6 heats and drivers competing twice, with the top 33 qualifying for the C F BOOTH GRAND FINALE. The meeting will then conclude with a WINNER TAKES ALL race which will be open to the top twenty point scorers over the Saturday night and Sunday finals, with the highest point scorers at the front of the closed grid. A souvenir programme will be available and the meeting will be supported by the Ministox's.
BELGIUM OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP 4 NATIONS CUP UPDATE Skegness Stadium staged the first two rounds of the 4 NATIONS CUP at their first F1 speed weekend of the season. Round 1 on the Saturday night saw newly upgraded Chris Fort from star grade take the final. Belgium Driver Jos op’t Roodt B67 drove an excellent race in the final but unfortunately got tangled with a back marker in the final stages. Sunday was dominated by blue grade drivers with Fairhurst, Finikin and Hopkins, stealing the glory in the final. The Dutch contingency faired pretty well with Peter Van Bosh H482 winning a heat on Sunday and H217winning the Consolation event. The top 15 point scorers at each round are awarded points from 15 to 1. B67 =2 22. 4 =2 With the rounds staged in England now complete, attention moves on to Scotland for round 3 at Cowdenbeath and round 4 at Knockhill in June SCOTTISH CHAMPIONSHIP WEEKEND 2008 The tenth staging of the TENG TOOLS Scottish Championship takes place at the Cowdenbeath Raceway on Saturday 14th June. In association with Knight Race Services the championship meeting also has NATIONAL SERIES & WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFYING status and is also round 3 of the 4 NATIONS CUP. Defending Champion Andrew Smith will be hoping to repeat his dominance at the Scottish weekend that he showed in 2007. Sunday 15th June moves to the popular Knockhill Race Circuit for the only oval race meeting to be staged at the venue during 2008. With N/S and WCQ points for the taking, as well as the 4 NATIONS CUP final round in Great Britain, there will be plenty to race for north of border in June. The MILLERS OILS CHALLENGE TROPHY moves into its 7th year, with the tri oval only been conquered twice by one driver. Andrew Smith. A weekend is a must for any spectator, no passport required! Incarace operates Short Circuit raceways in the Midlands: Birmingham Wheels, Hednesford Hills and Northampton International Raceways.Incarace promoter Philip Bond feels it is time to retire “I have enjoyed almost every minute of the job, but time moves on and it is time for me to step back a bit from the frontline of Short Oval promotion. Incarace will continue as a company, with key Staff such as Race Director Paul Gerrard, and Technical Director Mick Reece staying on. This will ensure a smooth transition. The only difference will be that the three shareholders in the company, my wife Liz, Mark and I will no longer own the company”. After 10 years in the sport Mark, Incarace MD, feels that it is an ideal opportunity for him to step down and pursue his other business interests. The new owner will be Dean Wood, owner of Spedeworth International, the main promoters of Short Circuit racing in the South and East of the Country.Dean will now control 9 tracks across the UK, and, while Incarace will continue to operate with separate offices and staff, there will be many advantages to the larger organisation Spedeworth/Incarace will be able to offer fantastic racing across some excellent raceways – and the new Incarace Fixture List will be finalised over the next few weeks.Philip was instrumental in the creation of the sport“s governing body (ORCi) and after 35 years of active Promotion, he is looking forward to a more relaxing lifestyle! “On a personal note to Drivers, we would like to thank you for your efforts and the entertainment you have provided for 1000s of fans over the past years.
